Cromer Carnival Day 2005 / Photojournalism
Here is a selection of captivating imagery from one of the largest and most spectacular carnivals in the UK. Cromer, with it's dedicated team of voluntary organizers pulled off another winner for 2005. It was a fantastic experience capturing the drama as it unfolded behind the camera and choosing the right magical moment to aim and fire. This type of journalistic photography has a much more spontaneous feel to it that I personally find very exciting. It's a buzz knowing that on most occasions there will only be one chance to capture a passing memory that's totally unrehearsed. It's important to me that even the more staged poses for specific requests by newspapers and magazines are relaxed and natural. I freelance for many UK and International publications so I don't mind travelling if my expenses are covered.
